Subject: Jazz Ensemble Night

Do you like listening to SWING and BIG BAND music?
Do you want to use your own instrument to play in a big band environment?

Join us and enjoy a night of practicing big band music twice a month in our group - JAZZ ENSEMBLE NIGHT! Jazz Ensemble Night ("Jazz EN") is a branch activity of HKJENS. Jazz EN adopts a big band approach, and targets junior to advanced level instrument players. It provides 2 nights every month for members to play and have fun in big band style.

Our meeting is held in T.S.T. from 2000pm to 2200pm on every 2nd & 4th Thursday night of each month. The core of the repertoire are standards that we will play and practice the hits of the big band boom/swing era (1930-1950) by famous musicians, composers and bandleaders including Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller and more.

Now, we're still looking for:

Guitarist
Alto/Tenor/Baritone Saxophonist
Trumpeter
Trombonist

Our music score requires instrumental skill level of approximately ABRSM classical grade 5. Ability to read swing music is an advantage.

If you need more details about Jazz EN and would like to join our upcoming gatherings (March 2006), please send your email to frank-chow@mail.hongkong.com
