I am amateur.

They are quite OK for me.

Good value for the money.

Why, for a Selmer you or Yani you can buy 5 to 10 Jinyins, not to mention the other lesser brands.

Suits my needs.

Man, the finish/lacquer is so beuatiful/superb that I just adore them.

Action and feel are also OK (Many are designed by foriegn brands.)

Some problems with the details and QC (the leather felt and cork chips sometimes fall off and need repair. But then all saxes suffer the same to some degree.) The antidote......because they are so cheap, if the problem develops after a year or two, don't take it to repair. It is cheaper to buy another new one.

As for the sound............it is such a complicated issue.............. (100,000 words deleted here due to space limitation).

Jinyin is not bad anyway.....and it is hard to justify the additional cost from a Jinyin to a Mark VI...

For beginner, I think Yamaha/Jupiter/Cannonball/Yanigasawa both have good quality and intonation (and with less risk). I don't recommend buying any sax if you do not have the right person to check it. If there is any problem related to the sax, it will led you develop a wrong sense of intonation. And that's why price mostly likely reflects quality (for saxophone). On the other hand, most Selmer is well-known to have intonation problem with needs player's well-skilled adjustment in playing.

Selmers arent very consistent.....if I ha a chance to sell all my horns......I may just keep a Mark VI and a Buescher TH&C alto....
