Subject: Let's play play~~~~

Hi, on this board, so many comments from different individuals who all LOVE playing saxophone.

I think what about we decide a particular song and let's all play it and send it to the web. Let each other learn from your technique and your style.

If I can set a litlle bit rules here...
Let's decide the song on every months 25th and send the recording file to the web by 10th of the next month.

I think we should have a jazz piece and a classical piece to choose from. I hope this will satisfy most people.

during the recording, we should speak out our particular username on this board....eg whatever (for me)

anyone support this or am I being silly again?!

absolutely no offence to anyone~~~~~ even the nortorious Mr. SC....can do a recording and convince us.

I nominate a classical piece.....piece number 38 from 80 graded studies for saxophone (a yellow book)....it is very playable, even beginners can practise and play....

I hope everyone can respond a little bit to this.....

just an additional info....I think anyone who nominate a piece....can supply the copy of that piece to anyone interested in the event....in which we all agree to destroy the copy after using it~~~~~ >.<"

Hello Whatever!

It's a good suggestion, I think. If we can give comments in mild tone and accept others comments peacefully, I think we can have fun and make friends.

However, not many ppl like to have their face shown on the web. Can we just record the playing without showing our face?

有建設性，我讚成。

But I need to do a hell lot of practice before hand and even more re-takes during the process.

You know, a performance/record is not a practice session.

I have a day time job and do not perform except for my family, which, by the way, hates it.

真係非常好的提議，非常高興看到如此有建設性的想法，有機會我一定要結交你這位音樂同好。

我有以下建議：
吹奏曲目可分四類：1.古典 2.爵士 3.流行曲 4.自由創作
爵士曲目可以只吹head、或improvise、或吹transcript，但必須註明。這樣一來新學者和不同音樂愛好者都可參與。

不太同意Fish所說的Comment想法，我認為無論吹得好不好，有參與就應該支持及鼓勵，在評語方面我會找音樂界的專業樂手朋友評鑑給與中肯但正面的意見，比如 Tom Nunan、Ah Chi、黎sir 等等，名單待定。

另外我建議在確定曲目後應給參與者多些練習時間，不用太急，確定日期後我會免費提供錄音室服務、自製樂譜和伴奏音樂，希望做到好的和第同質量的Audio及Video並給參與者一個體驗專業錄音的經驗。如果你唔想出鏡我一定會保密。

希望大家多發建議及支持呢次活動！有興趣參與者請Email給我，請告訴我你想試錄的曲目，我會發起一個mailing list跟進此活動。
