A different mouthpiece makes alot of difference...
what mouthpiece are you using?

Professional recordings always use a lot of sound effects like reverb, chorusing, flanging and equalization. You can try use professional effects processors such as Yamaha, Korg, Roland, Zoom and Sony. Really changes the sound.
Go listen to live performances. Sound very different form recordings.

Absolutely disagree that a different mouthpiece could give you a "靚音色" (as the subject discussed). Different mouthpiece may give a different shape or character of the sound, but to play the sound beautifully, it has all to do with the player's control, including breathe, larynx, mouth cavity and embouchure.

你指既靚音色係乜呀？可唔可以講清楚呀？可唔可以舉例說明呀？
係唔係有的唔靚音色呀？
好似人聲唱腔，音色既野好個人同主觀個喎。

膚淺的我並未聽過David Sanbor, Sonny Rollin吹奏既音色是怎樣.
但我覺得如果你係欣賞佢地既.....
如果又可以既話...........
可否考慮下用佢地record所用既setting來自己吹奏聽聽呢?

係 David Sanbon, 唔係 David Sanbor, 新派爵士樂師，之前長駐香港，非常好聽。
Sonny Rollin 係老牌美國爵士樂師，一的都唔好聽。
純屬個人意見。

我就覺得Solly Rollins的Albums如"Saxophone colossus" & "Way out West" 好好聽, 吹得好型. 不況試聽.

a nice tonality may not just mean Jazz music.......i think classcal is very good.....John Kelly Edward has a nice tonality.....Eugene Rousseau is also worth buying......

I can't play well, and I myself don't have a nice tone. But maybe I can share my experience and see if we can learn something at the end through exchange of idea.
IMHO the key to a nice tone is not equipment, but rather the breath support and the way we maintain a healthy air stream when we play. I always reminded myself when I play that I have to open up my throat to let air flowing freely, and provide a strong support through my diaphram. How one stand and hold the horn must be important too; standing upright will always be better than seating down with a crooked back. I would avoid biting in too deeply into the mouthpiece as that would make it difficult to focus the air stream when blowing. I would also avoid blowing hard, but rahter learn to blow steady. I worked on breathing too even when not playing the horn; I learned to take deep breaths both for relaxation and working the muscles used in breathing and blowing. I found regular exercise and playing sports did help a lot. Another trick I learned from my teacher was that never drink sour stuff like lemon tea or orange juice before playing. It made my lips feel tired quickly. Just water would be good enough.
I play tenor and I have a bass heavy sound. I tried dozens of different mouthpieces and reeds, and I always sounded bad and very similar. My priority was always finding the combination that I could manage to use and felt comfortable to play. My final choice was an Otto Link metal 7* and a Guardala Crescent. I cheated with reeds though. I used Rico Royal (blue box) Baritone reeds, 2.5 or 3. Using baritone reed improved the mid range response, but the high end would suffer. I couldn't play thick reeds, but so be it. As long as I could play in fluid way I would sacrifice tone quality. Afterall I am sure my tone quality would improve as I continue to play.

You may try practising overtone also which improve tone quality a lot. Good luck!
