Hello Dan, didn't have to start this female. She started on her on at six months old. She will flat smoked a track, regardless on what is making the track. She was hunted a little bit on the snow and ice back in December and she ran one in a overflow pipe on a pond, caught one on the ground by herself and took another one to a barn. Unfortunately she came up with cut pads and haven't gotten her completely healed. She was hunted two nights about 30 days ago and started limping again. Looks like she might have some problems in that area. I'm going to hunt her in the near future and see how she does. I like what I see so far so I guess I'll keep her for now....talk to you later...sparkie
