>Dan, thanks for the introduction. I've read here on the forum for some time, researching, learning, etc. I have to say, a true wealth of knowledge here! Thanks to all for that, I'm having fun.

Maggie is doing well and the pups are trying very hard to imitate her when they get to run. Made it to the woods on sunday and started her in a match race type start with a long legged walker dog my buddy runs. Older track and I wasn't sure she would take it. Before they got out of sight she was in the lead and hoping to make my buddy feel better I said, "well, they're huntin". My buddy said, "yeah but it's different, your dogs huntin a cat, my dog's huntin your dogs ass". I thought that was funny. They did a real good job, made a loss in a big melted out boulder field. Both dogs worked hard to make a recovery and we couldn't help them either so the morning ended there. I had a great time working with her for a couple hours on that rockpile! I would almost swear she can hear or smell me when I think. These leopards have smarts I've not seen before. That much was even noticed by two hound guys that until yesterday have done nothing but ride my butt for getting a couple of "cute little spotted dogs". On the way home my only comment was "I might know some guys with a litter"?

All, feel free to yell this way anytime, I'm always up for a good dog talk. Take it easy gents, Jed P.

Just wanted to give a report on a female that Dave
>Peightal had sold to a friend down in Denver Co. Her
>name is Maggie. The first day he hunted her she put a
>good old mountain bobcat in a pile of rocks for his
>pups to bay at. The second day he took her out for
>cougars and she put on of them up too. Jed
>(Predergast) said she smoked that track like it was
>standing still and is a first rate tree dog. I asked
>him if she ran faster than the hounds he was used to
>and his response was, "DEFINATELY!!"
> I have heard a fair amount about this female as I
>owned her sister and she (Maggie) is a very well
>balanced dog. You folks will be hearing from Jed in
>the future I'm sure. He will be another great
>addition to the leopard family as he is one of those
>guys that just about any body likes to be around.
