This weekend would be a good time, Perry! Tommy came by a while ago and said there was already several people there, mostly the Virginia boys. Friday is the biggest day, with Big Jim's Bar B Que lunch, and the hunt {trophy] friday night.Saturday brings the shooting contest, which really draws a crowd, plus "beauty contest" and treeing show? Henry Thornton's Dashound was such a "ringer" I think they outlawed him, so the Leopards had a chance! That Dashound can really spit it out. Reminds me of C V Molly II, I got from Billy Styles. Billy had won many treeing contest with her, never lost. When the counters were ask how many barks, they would say something like"Molly won by at least twenty barks, best we could count!" She would tree ever breath for hours, slobber rundown on the ground. Henry's little Dashound about that same way! Back to the hunt, Roy Latham, of Foggy Top Lights will be there friday selling and repairing, or updating lights, and we have lots of raffles, plus friendship hunts all three nights. Did I mention the great words of wisdom and knowledge, that flows so freely ?{LOL} All of this on a goat and duck farm! While some good hunting takes place, this event is best known for the "atmosphere", here at the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, just a few miles from Mayberry, N C . Rex
