I have in my possesion some very interesting articles, wrote by prominent Cur breeders, many years ago. Most wanted to promote their breed the best way possible, including UKC, if they would.Several times down thru the years, these men tried to get our dogs recognized, on equal terms with the hound breeds. Now, we have the opportunity they worked for and knew would some day come. Don't be deceived, those who started this breed would be all for this. How could Randy NOT register a dog that was UKC registered, if it's pedigree was ALCBA ?? AS for being CURS, mine are far my "CUR TYPE" than most, but its just a name. The dogs would be the same. For years I bred a strain of July wolfhounds. Every one that saw them called them a CUR, as they had heavy double coat, short ears, chop mouth, and ran to catch.But they were a pure breed with a pedigree tracing back to mid 1800s. In contrast, some breed long eared bawl mouth dogs and call them a CUR. Prior to the ACBA regristry, people around here referred to these dos as LEOPARD DOGS. I write this for any one with the interest of our breed. UKC has no political interest involved and would serve all breeders equall. The name want change our dogs,just get them ON EQUAL GROUND! thanks, Rex
