Jug was a cooner and John promoted him the way John does most other things...very well. If I ever have a male that is putting pups that good on the ground, I'd do the same thing. As for the part-leopard question. It was stated honestly and openly that Jug had a shot of walker and a shot of cur back in his ancestry before it was voted to bring him into the ALCBA. There are hounds in the background of every bloodline of leopard that I know of so I don't be lieve that ever really bothered anyone. He is just simply a part of the breed now.
