In response to David P. and others.Guilty as charged! I am the 2yr director and have held other offices over the last 19 years.This september wil be 20 years of active partisipation.If my memory serves me right we had about 35 members back then so 150 to 200 now sayes we have grown some.As far as the members at the annual meeting making all decisions and no one else having a say."BULL SHIT"in most recent years about 40% of the members were present.Last year was the worst I have seen in 15 years only 20% but still from all over the country.Was every one guilty?Just a few guilty? Only elected guilty? Who? Just keep in mind it was us old stubborn,unsociable grouches that kept it going all these years. As for officers Perry Lambert and the others are the best we have ever had.Many times they have put the association above there personal feelings.They spend many hours talking between officers and the members to see what issues need to be addressed,also check with Matt on the year book and Paul Wagner on legal matters.All of these men donate time and services and recieve little thanks.
We spend enough of our money for the association maybe the members should call us instead of bitching on a message board. In march I went to the Blue Ridge sectional hunt in Mocksville N.C. Went to see old friends meet new ones and hunt with different dogs.Also wanted to hear what was on their minds in that part of the country.It was a 14 hour drive one way and worth every minute,ther are many, many fine people at that hunt.
It was mentioned about only 15 dogs in competition at last world hunt this is true. I'm not aware that this breed is about competition.One of the world hunts at Filmore had 21 dogs in the competition, but what about the 50 or 60 dogs that buddy hunted on thursday nite before.The world hunt in tilden about the same way. Competition just doesn't matter much its nice but no big deal.I know been there.
I suppose my S.O.B. Grouch reputation really started the first time I saw Jug. I told Steve Ingram he had false papers.Steve refused to do anything even though he was told where a litter mate to the papers was,Said he wasn't getting involved.This started a fight that lasted 3 years ending with false papers removed. As a last effort I made a plea to the membership then made a motion to single register Jug.So yes I am guilty again.
I had talked to John Clark several times the last time for several hours.Mr Clark said he told them boys not to false paper Jug but they did it anyway.He also told me Jug was part walker,Part leopard,Part black diamond with more walker blood than the others. I believe Mr Clark he had no reason to lie.He had done nothing wrong and I have no ill feelings toward him.How much John Wick and others know you will have to ask them.I personally believe John Wick Knowes the whole truth.I have often thought that was why I got the cold shoulder only he knows. I Hold no ill feeling toward John Wick or Jug.I do however hold ill feelings for Jugs previous owner,when I approached him he was very rude and refused to make any attempt to correct the situation.Had he chosen to cooperate there wouldn't have been so much negativity and Jug and his offspring mite have been better accepted.However this was not the case.
Jellousy has been mentioned.There was none on my part.However I did take the whole situation personal but oh well I don't care who you are I'm the old grouch and I appologize to no one.Jug is here,its over,Live with it.
Now as far as single reg.if you are going to show a pedigree be truthful.Show the walker,collie,rottweiler,birddog or goat,if its not the truth leave it blank.
As far as color of offspring of any reg. dogs it should not matter. The parents were reg the pups should be reg black,White,purple with or without trim.
Some one mentioned the fear of change. This was a very good post much better than piss and leomonade. Change can be good and bad. Mr. Ingram once said at one of our meetings " I own the Registration Office I'll do what I want" I sincerly hope Randy and Jed are more open minded.They do own the registration office and can have their own rules and breed standards for their office.However they should be reminded they do Not,I repeat Do Not own the Association or set rules or breed standards for the Association.The members will decide if Randy and Jeds new ones are accepted or not.
I do wish them well on their new venture.
