Coon season has been kinda slow for me in central Ohio. It has been unusually warm until this week.Last week during the day we had temps in the 60's. We have had a lot of rain this fall and several days with high winds. The coons are fat and water is plentiful. They don't seem to be moving well. The moon is bright ad temps have dropped to the teens at nite with heavy frosts. They still are not moving much. I hunted an 8 month od male for a young fell for 3 weeks prior to season. Had him treeing his own coons before he was 9 months. He had picked up a few bad hablts from being hunted with several dogs and I think he is on the right track now. He has a ways to go but is really looking good. Some hot chases would do him good. Maybe after this system moves through the coons will get back to normal?
