NASCAR's Night Before Christmas

"Twas the night before Christmas and all through the South, not a racecar was running, not even all the ones owned by Roush.
The cars were all parked in their million-dollar shops with care. In hopes all would be covered with decals next year.
Kurt Busch in his handcuffs and brother Kurt with his ears, had just settled down after drinking some free Miller beer.
When down in the pits there arose such a clatter, that Bill Weber's hair to him suddenly didn't matter.
Dale Jr. and Jeff arrived late you see and NASCAR was busy removing their presents from under the tree.
The smile on the face of Tony Stewart let you know, that the champ had his act together while the others were slow.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but Brian France and Mike Helton both beaming with cheer.
France was little and Helton quick and I knew in a moment their wallets must be thick.
More rapid than eagles the dollar marks did fly and they kept grabbing them by the sack full right out of the sky.
They whistled, shouted and called them by name, CBS, ABC and ESPN we want your green to televise our game.
NBC it is goodbye to you, because Wally and Benny kept arguing over their shoes.
If I'm on the good list I wish not to see, anymore Wally's World laps beamed through my TV.
On Rusty, on Darrell and Ricky Rudd too, we need you in the booth to make sure the networks keep their cool.
As the jet blowers remove debris from the track, Jimmie Johnson will still be allowed to stay on the lead lap.
So up to the NASCAR suite the top brass flew, with a list of the good guys they would keep from feeling blue.
Rick Hendrick on the good list and Jack Roush on the bad, for criticizing NASCAR's idea of limiting the size of his hat.
"I have five cars with decals and all must go," said Mr. Roush with his face all in a glow.
We will lease teams tires and limit their tests and then we will look at the list that makes the best.
Ed Clark is a little nervous watching the France family mix their stew, cause he knows they were contemplating the future of his two.
Rumors flew like snow about the NASCAR Hall of Fame, while we know it will go where NASCAR sees the most cash gain.
Tony Stewart celebrated his second with class and is now busy pondering how to spend all his prize money cash.
Jeff Gordon’s rainbow was nowhere in sight, when the cameras at the banquet showed the New York Christmas lights.
Dale Jr. bought a short track for under his tree, after his worst season ever following the legend left behind by Number Three.
The young guns keep coming and drivers my age are few, but God Bless you Morgan Shepherd for still being you!
The sounds of engines at Daytona are just two months away and another year of changes will cause opinions to sway.
To all those that take time to read the ramblings we write, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
