An Earth Home is where your house is built back into a hill. Usually only the front of the house is not into the hill. We have our garage on the north side of our house, so that part is not in the hill (ground). Our roof is a regular roof as some homes also have the roof into the hill. This is very cost efficient. Stays cool longer into the warm seasons and warm into the cold seasons. We have a back up air-conditioner/furnace but use our wood burning stove for most of our heat in the winter time. The front of our house is the only part that has windows in it. The back is all in the ground. There are cement retaining walls and the main wall in the back of the house that supports the house from the dirt that is the back part of the house. Have I completely lost you, Cheryl? Sorry for my rambling but if you have never seen this type of home, well, it is hard to explain. Please ask any questions that are not clear for you.
