It depends how old you are...if you are a teen or a women you could try a womens style suit. If you are a pre-teen or even still a teen a long floor length dress always looks good. But don't trust me on that i've never been in a pageant thats just what i've seen and you say its big in your town so im sure a friend or neighbour could help you out if not just ask to person running the event.
