Deciduous forests can be found in the eastern half of North America, and the middle of Europe. There are many deciduous forests in Asia as well as South America. The latitude range is anywhere from 23 ° north to 38 ° south. Deciduous forests have mild summers averaging about 70 °F usually begin in early June and end in late August. Winter temperatures are fairly cool with an average temperature of a little below freezing, they begin until December. This kind of forests have almost 14 inches of rain in the winter months and more than 18 inches of rain in the summer, in all, the average rainfall is 30 to 50 inches a year. The soil is very fertile. In fact, some of the great agricultural regions are found in this kind of forest, our Island will have plants and tress like corn, wheat, tomato’s, and many kinds of vegetables. There are trees like ash, oak, lime, beech, birch and arrow-wood, because the trees grow close to each other, it is hard to walk through the terrain. There are many type of animals in our island, from mammals like deer to bugs like mosquitoes. Many of the animals are either seed feeders, or omnivores. Many of the animals have adapted to forest life. Some of them hibernate during the winter months. The animals that consist in our island are deer, squirrels, mice raccoons, snakes, robins, frogs and many types of insects. The one will have to raise is cattle, for it’s meat and labor, however the cattle population will have to be under control since they take more food in then they give meat. As natural, crop rotation would have to happen according to the season. The island also has a natural spring system as a source of water.
