Author: Starrstruck [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 20:53:09 04/28/01 Sat Author Host/IP: 1Cust69.tnt2.adelanto.ca.da.uu.net/63.25.8.69 Gary Tomlin has been making some changes in Llanview since he took over, and for the most part this OLTL fan has been pleased. The town is looking more like it's old self, and that is a good thing. The best part for me is that Todd has been more like himself, too. Not 100%, but he's close. Closer than he ever was under JFP. Tomlin has been bringing back some familiar faces since he returned...Andrew....Alex....Gabrielle.... A TnR fan can't help but wonder somewhere in the back of her mind if he would ever consider bringing sweet Rebecca back to the fold. It's a nice thought, but... Realistically, I don't see it happening. For one thing, Reiko's UPN series, All Souls has just begun, and I honestly don't think she'd be available right now IF he wanted her. I, for one, wouldn't want anyone else to play the role. Secondly, what real ties does she have left to Llanview? There's Todd, always, but he's immersed in trying to put his family back together now, which leaves little room for a stroll down memory lane with Rebecca. Renee never mentions the girl anymore, despite her claims in the past of Rebecca being 'like a daughter' to her. There are a few characters who were on the show when she was who still grace the screen-Bo, Nora, Viki, Hank, Andrew-but none of them have a really 'close' tie with Rebecca. Personally, I can come up with scenarios to bring her back, the main one being to support Renee right now when her whole world seems to be falling apart, but I don't think the show would be likely to go that route. It's more likely that they would use this as an opportunity to strengthen the bond between Renee and her new 'son', Bender. All things said and done, while it's a nice thought to ponder the return of Todd's first love, I don't think it's ever gonna happen. But then again, with soaps, never say never...
