I am surprised that nobody posted the following tip to get the correct direction. It is VERY easy to end up on the wrong satellite using dead reckoning, and this will then show a sat finder signal but not allow reception of the EPG on a digibox.

Find a cooperative neighbour with a working system, and wait for a clear day and observe the shadow of the LNB moving across the dish. When the shadow is symmetrically positioned, accurately note the time. Set up your dish the following day. The time will vary throughout the year but only slightly each day, and certain days will also allow elevation to be precisely set using this method.

At the moment the correct time for SE France is about 10.25.
