I have a 80cm Dish that receives MTV & VH-1 with no
problem 30-40km east of Hønefoss using a cheap Universal LNB and Pace 2200 Digibox. Some Digiboxes will probably have a problem with interference from northbeam. Also the crosspol isolation is important. Did you adjust the LNB correctly - skew is around 10 degrees counter clockwise seen towards the satellite.

1.2m struggles to receive Astra 2D , channels is missing around midnight. Other times of the day in clear sky the 2D horisontal transponders is ok. With MTI AP8-TW LNB I get the best Astra 2D reception. Invacom SNF-031 does give poorer performance on Astra 2D compared to MTI even the MTI has got a slightly worse noisefigure. The gain in the MTI is higher on Astra 2D compared to Invacom.

It should also be noted that when I have OK BBC Astra 2D signal on the 1.2m with Nokia 9600 DVB2000 the Pace 2200 Digibox does not work...

When using antenna for Astra 2D its a good idea to use a single Universal LNB in the center position on the
antenna with no switches etc. used but I guess you are doing that already.
