Subject: Short Halloween Story - Nothing at All

Nothing at All

Luke’s Halloween Party
October 31, 1996

Luke had really gone all out this year for his Halloween party, he had cobwebs, some real some fake, hanging from the ceiling. Black and orange streamers were hanging and looping throughout the entire club. Claude behind the bar dressed as a old Egyptian royal guard, the wait staff was dress as Egyptian soldiers with togas and headpieces when asked if it was a voluntary if the dress up like that Luke would say “Hey Gotta protect the good stuff.” Luke himself was in a pin-stripe suit and hat with a guitar that resembled B.B.’s Lucille slung on his back.

All round the room were people dress up in one corner sat the Spencer’s, Laura was in a 30’s style flappers outfit that matched Luke suit while Lulu sitting on her lap was dress up in a clown outfit. Lucky and Elizabeth were matching black and white jail suits changed together at the ankles with old time shackles. Across from them were the Quartermaines, Monica and Alan had on their doctor jackets, sprayed with fake blood and their faces painted like corpses. Edward and Lila were dressed up as a medieval king and queen, next to them sat Emily as a princess all three had on matching colors of purple and white with sparkling crowns atop their heads. Ned was sitting next to Edward discussing ELQ business in Elvis leather comeback outfit with the matching hair and sideburns.

Across the room were Mac Scorpio & Felicia Jones dressed as Blondie & Clyde, with Lucy Coe and Kevin Collins dresses as Cleopatra and Julius Caesar arguing over whose costume was better. Mike Corbin and his date from the Nurses ball, Jake were made up as old-time westerns and chatting at the bar. While most of the town had showed up for the party, the major surprise was that both Sonny Corinthos and Jason Morgan were there and in costumes. Sonny was dressed up in traditional chef outfit including a small chef’s hat having a drink and chatting with Luke at the bar.

While Jason on the other hand was there only because Sonny had dragged him there saying that if he didn’t come he’d call Robin and have her tell him to come. He had asked Sonny why it was so important that he go and Sonny just said it was a surprise. So he reluctantly went to find a costume, he later showed up at Luke’s wearing black leather motorcycle boots with black leather pants and a tight blue shirt that Robin had given to him before she left for Yale topped off with his leather jacket. Sonny had smirk when he saw him saying that a biker’s look would work for his first Halloween.

Jason was bored out of his mind; he never was one for parties so he just stuck close to Sonny all night, every so often glancing at the door seeing who was coming in and what they dress up as. Earlier when Carly had walk in the door wearing a short tight dress and heavy makeup he had asked Luke and Sonny how come she was here without a costume and they had said that dressing like a hooker was a costume; but later when he comment on her outfit for authenticity, she said she wasn’t wearing one and stormed off giving an ear piercing scream when she saw Lulu in her clown outfit toddling towards her, that just confused him more. The door had just open when he turn and he first caught sight of small black leather boots attached to fine looking legs incased by skin-tight black hip-hugger leather pants, exposing a flat smooth stomach. His eyes went up further taking in the cobalt-blue baby doll t-shirt with the word Naughty in elegant script with a halo on the N and devils tails on the Y written across the chest, his eyes moving up further taking in long brown hair capped by a black bandana; finally his eyes flew to hers and locked onto familiar brown eyes behind blue-tinted wire sunglasses. After he got over his speechlessness he said the only thing that would come to his burn-out mind.

Jason: (yelling) ROBIN! (runs over to Robin and picks her up spinning her around and hugging her tightly) What are you doing here?

Robin: (laughing and smiling) Jason put me down (Jason sets her down and hugs her again, she leans up and whispers in his ear) surprise.

Jason: (enlightened) Now this is one surprise I like, that’s why Sonny asked, demanded, and then finally threatened me to come to this party.

Robin: (still smiling) Yeah, he told me about Luke’s costume party; I thought it would be fun to go together and have some fun for Halloween.

Jason: You know I’m suddenly liking this holiday more and more (leans down and kisses her), come on let’s go over to the bar.

Robin: (they walk over to Jason’s departed bar stool, Jason sits then pulls her on to his lap facing Luke and Sonny) Hey Guys.

Luke: (smiling widely) Damn Lil’ Scorpio, I don’t think my heart can take this, you in leather, woah.

Sonny: He’s right sweetheart, you look magnificent.

Robin: (blushing) Thanks guys.

Jason: (smiling at her for blushing, puts her arm around Robin more securely) Hey she’s mine get your own. (faces Robin) How long are you here for?

Robin: Just tonight I have a class tomorrow afternoon.

Jason: (sadden, but determined to make the most of the evening) Well, we’ll make do. (turns slightly when a new song starts on jukebox, knowing she loves to dance) Would you like to dance?

Robin: (surprised that he asked but happy all the same) I’d love to.

(It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word you can light up the dark
Try as I may I could never explain
What I hear when you don't say a thing)

(The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes sayin' you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all)

Robin looks up at Jason smiling to the lyrics that seemed to describe their relationship perfectly. He never had to say anything to her, his eyes and mannerisms always told her how he was feeling. The night on the bridge anyone else would have freaked and tried to pacify her, he instead offered to go with her. The light touch of his hands when they were in Montauk walking along the beach and his rare smiles that hardly anyone but her saw, told her how much he loved her. She knows that if she was to ever to fall or waver he’d be right there to pick her up and help her along.

(All day long I can hear people talking out loud
But when you hold me near, you drown out the crowd
Old Mr. Webster could never define
What's being said between your heart and mine)

(The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes sayin' you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all)

Jason returns her smile putting his forehead on hers, staring into the eyes that mean the world to him. He wasn’t good with words and Robin never pressured him to talk, they could be together for hours and say nothing at all. She would just hold his hand and smile that sweet smile of hers at him and he would just melt in her love. When he was in the hospital after everyone had left they just curled up together and stared into each other’s eyes, no words needed or wanted and for a little while he didn’t mind he was stuck in the stifling hospital.

(The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes sayin' you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all)

Jason: (smiles openly, leaning in and kissing her softy) I love you.

Robin: (smiles warmly and kisses him again) I love you too, always and forever.

The End
