Subject: New Story - Never Easy

Hi, I've started a new story. Let me know if I should continue.

Never Easy

Prolouge

Robin Scorpio smiled that bright smile of hers as she set her purse down on the empty table next to the door. This was the place she would now call home. She closed the door behind her and looked out the window of her quaint two story townhouse. When she was searching the real estate listings online in Paris, the idea of a house seemed to large, and an apartment seemed too small. She found this quaint townhouse which was located on the North side of Port Charles. The area was classy, the people nice, and the scenic view of the lake breathtaking. She was going to love it here. Stretching her arms out she let herself get taken in by the atmosphere. This was her place. She felt giddy just thinking about it. She had put down the down payment two days ago and she was now ready to move in. January 1, 2001: a new year, a new millenium (disputed by some of course!), a new start in an old town. Walking over to the bay window that overlooked the lake she watched the sun shine brightly. A shiver ran down her spine and she giggled. It had to be wrong to feel this good. She started an internship at General Hospital in three weeks. When she considered all her options, going home was the best of the lot. How could she refuse a chance to study in Port Charles and be near her family. She felt as if she were starting fresh. A clean slate in an old town. There might be the occasional run in with people she had not spoken with in years but she was strong enough to handle it. The past was the past. She had moved on and nothing could take her back. Impulsively, she swung open the French doors that led to the balcony. She was immediately greeted with a cold sharp wind but she ignored it. She expected to get a few remarks of her past with a couple of mobsters, for all purposes sake shall remain nameless. She expected it, she was prepared for it, she had moved on. She was no longer the naive, faithful follower who chose to ignore bitter realities. She was now Robin Scorpio: medical intern and her own woman. A woman with a past she refused to let haunt her. Or so she thought.

Silence. It had dominated his short life for so long. Two years to be exact. Two years of heartache, lonliness, misery, numbness, and nothing. In the beginning it hit him like a ton of bricks. Before then he opted for the quiet. He needed it, searched for it, thrived in it. The minute it was forced upon him he resented it. How could someone live their life like that. No one, nothing. Just silence. The silence taunted him for too long. He thought if he left Port Charles he could find a life somewhere else. He almost created one in Egypt. No such luck though. The silence dominated by an even greater magnitude. So he returned to the city that caused him so much pain and set out to make a new name for himself. He no longer wanted to be known as Alan and Monica Quartermaine's braindamaged son. No longer the victim of family outcast AJ Quartermaine's biggest mistake. No longer the man who cheated on a woman he supposedly loved more than anything. No longer the man who despised his outcast brother so much so that he stole his son in a name of revenge against a family that showed their love in all the wrong ways. No longer the man that took Robin Scorpio's heart and spit it back in her face for the sake of Michael Quartermaine; son of the town tramp and his alcoholic brother. And most of all he would no longer be known as the loyal right hand of mob don Sonny Corinthos. He would no longer delve into the past and think of what could have been. He shed himself of the years of misery and happiness. He servered any and all ties with Sonny Corinthos. He was through with Carly Benson. He shut the Quartermaine's out of his life. And most importantly he was over Robin Scorpio. He was now Jason Morgan: sports club owner and legitimate citizen of Port Charles. The man with a past he refused to let haunt him. Or so he thought.
