Date Posted: 05:40:15 03/11/14 Tue The AA has launched a ‘Think Bikes!’ wing mirror campaign, to remind drivers to look out for motorcyclists and cyclists. President of the AA, Edmund King, said: “The AA Think Bikes campaign is definitely needed when half of drivers are often surprised when a cyclist or motorcyclist ‘appears from nowhere’ (according to an AA survey). Those on two wheels never ‘appear from nowhere’, so as drivers we need to be more alert to other road users. Likewise, riders need to be aware that they may not always be spotted by drivers. We hope that this campaign can reach the parts that other campaigns can’t reach.” One million sets of free stickers – to be attached to the wing mirrors (as the campaign name suggests) – will be made available at branches of Halfords, distributed by the police and will also be sent out with AA membership reminders.
