Ducati has introduced, in what it calls a �World First�, an airbag-equipped jacket that operates wirelessly.

The �Ducati Apparel D Air� jacket � manufactured by fellow Italian company Dainese � has airbags that are triggered if sensors on the bike (initially featured on the new Multistrada 1200 S Touring D air model only) detect a �terminal slide� as well as an impact from the front, side or rear.

The jacket will operate for the rider as well as a pillion.
