Prime Minister David Cameron announced that existing legislation on racing on public roads is to be deregulated to allow local authorities to permit their running.

Councils will have to consult with residents and ensure a strict set of safety tests are adhered to.

The bill is scheduled to go through the Commons this Autumn.
