At the CES technology festival, Volvo unveiled a prototype helmet that warns a vehicle when it gets too close to the wearer. The helmet will also let the wearer know when they are in another vehicle’s blind-spot.

The system calculates potential trajectories of both vehicles, warns when a collision is imminent and can even apply the brakes if necessary. This does require the car to be fitted with Volvo’s ‘City Safety’ system.
