道理很簡單，如果同學要參加學校安排的戲劇比賽，因此帶了一些「戲服」回校，那自然是與上課有關。

同樣道理，如果同學要做project，或替校報服務等，有需要帶照相機回校攝影，那便是與上課有關。

「與上課無關物品」的定義為何那樣含糊？因為我們不可能向同學逐一界定哪些是「有關」，哪些是「無關」。我們的同學是很精明的，心中一定有數。

至於為何不准同學帶與上課無關的物品回校，原因也很簡單，一是怕同學不專心上課；二是怕丟失了，製造無謂的後遺症。

告訴你們一件往事：
話說當時還是盛行「炒卡」的年代，有一位同學氣沖沖的來找我，說：「阿sir，我唔見左本卡簿！」
我說：「這是與上課無關的物品，我是不會替你追查的。況且，卡簿也不是很貴重。」
他很緊張的說：「不是的，很貴重的。」
我不以為然，說：「你緊張纔會說它貴重。它價值多少呀？」
他說：「一萬多塊！」
我說：「什麼？一萬多塊？你何來那麼多錢？若你母親知道你這樣浪費金錢，她會多麼傷心？」
他說：「我母親跟我合作『炒』的。」
我說：「……」

公sir，我之所以有此一問，其實是為了一個經常帶相機回校的同學，免其受罰。

其實我明白相機本身與課堂無關，但又沒有騷擾同學上課，攜帶回校本無大礙。但依此推論，凡與上課無關的物品，只要沒有構成滋擾，也是「合法」的。

那麼，那位同學有否違返校規呢？
