Hello Alex!

In quick answer to your question...yes and no.

First, I don't think you quite understand my definitions of deity versus divinity. Deity is God...Deity is everything...good, evil, light, dark, sky, earth, and everything in between. So, there can not be an opposite to deity...ever, as deity is everything. Yes, this does indeed mean that I have rejected the notion that God is only good.

Divinities, more like what you are speaking of with emotions and whatnot are reflections of aspects of deity. So, a divinity can easily be negative in some ways and positive in others, as deity contains all of these things. In many polytheistic religions you can see their "gods" or what I would consider divinities fighting amongst themselves. As aspects of deity, and not the entirety of it, whatever traits they have can easily contradict the traits of another divinity who reflects a different aspect of deity.

I hope that clears some of it up. In essence what I am saying is deity (God) is everything and therefore has no opposite and the divinities (relections of aspects of God) can indeed have opposites in other divinities.

You would be one of the few who would tell me that. Most will tell you demons are evil, angels are good. There is no inbetween or redemption for what they are. (This is the view that most often permeates modern Christianity, though there are always exceptions to everything. Hence, why I take a person on an individual level...regardless of what beliefs they claim to have. Even within organized religions there are difference of belief between denomination and even on a personal level).

I appologize but I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Can you give me an example?

You as well! And thanks for writing to me!
