Disappearing

The day he first told me he was starting to disappear I didn't believe him & so he stopped & held his hand up to the sun & it was like thin paper in the light & finally I said you seem very calm for a man who is disappearing & he said it was a relief after all those years of trying to keep the pieces of his life in one place. Later on, I went to see him again & as I was leaving, he put a package in my hand. This is the last piece of my life, he said, take good care of it & then he smiled & was gone & the room filled with the sound of the wind & when I opened the package there was nothing there & I thought there must be some mistake or maybe I dropped it & I got down on my hands & knees & looked until the light began to fade & then slowly I felt the pieces of my life fall away gently & suddenly I understood what he meant & I lay there for a long time crying & laughing at the same time.
Needless to say, having just seen Trevor playing Mic on a rerun of JAG, not to mention the commercial that was still playing, I was totally shocked to hear of his passing.
Condolences to his family and may he find eternal peace.
I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the untimely death of Trevor Goddard, apparently by suicide. Trevor's enthusiasm and dedication to his role as Mic Brumby was readily apparent every time we had the opportunity to watch him on Tuesday nights.
I was one who stood in an interminably long, seemingly never moving line to meet him at last year's FanFest. Finally growing impatient, I stepped out of line and just observed the proceedings as each fan came up to Trevor--each receiving a very personal warm greeting -- often a kiss and/or a hug -- all in good fun and causing many a laugh. You couldn't help but be caught up in the camaraderie that was apparent in the interaction between Trevor and all of the JAG fans; I was--so much so that I never did get to meet him in person and get his autograph--but just seeing someone with that much seeming "zest for life" was worth it and I came away with fond memories still.
That's why the news that he apparently took his own life comes as such as shock.
My sincerest condolences to Trevor's wife and young sons. Know that Trevor will always be remembered with great admiration and fondness among those of us who consider ourselves part of the extended "JAG family."

I wish I had adequate words for his family and well-wishers -- just remember to give him a smile now and then when you're thinking about him, and maybe he'll see and smile back.

My sympathies to everyone who loved Trevor. A young person's death is always a tragedy and moreso when two children are left without a father. Even though I didn't care for "Mic", I liked Trevor and will have fond memories of him, always.

re condolences -- Crocodile Brumbee, 21:23:13 06/09/03 Mon I learned this day's very sad news very soon after logging onto the JAG chat room. I have not logged onto my chat program in several weeks, I believe it was an angel named Trevor directing my fingers to bring up the chat program. There can be no other explanation. I have used the nickname Crocodile Brumbee for as long as I have been chatting on the USA Chat. When I first started chatting on there I was often the only male chatter among several female chatters who would swoon over Harm. And so I took great pleasure in their own displeasure with Brumby every time I cut down Harm as a wimp for losing Mac to him. A friend attended the JAG Fan Fest last year and brought back an autographed photograph of Trevor's for me which I will cherish forever. We will never forget Trevor.
I am shocked and saddened by this news. I still can't believe it . I am speechless. You and your family will be in my prayers.
Trev, Thanks for the fun times you gave us. You will be missed Mate.

My Prayes and Condolences going to all those peaople whose loved Trevor, first as human being, as a very talented actor and, most of all, as father and devote husband.
I didn't have the pleasure to meet him but I knew that he had all great qualities inside of his heart.
At the moment I remember one of the most beautiful song played by Sting, and it would be a way to be (all of us) nearest at this sadness.

My deepest heartfelt sympathies go out to Trevor's family, friends & the cast & crew of JAG. I have read many comments about his appearance at last year's Fan Fest and I can tell that he will surely be missed. He seemed to be an awesome individual.
While I am a shipper at heart, I think I he did a wonderful job of keeping the JAG storylines exciting especially between Harm, Mac & Mic.
He will surely be missed by all that knew him. I pray for comfort for all during this terrible time. May they all find strength in the beauty of his smile.

As I've been reading the different messages posted in response to the news of Trevor's death, a certain scene has been playing over and over again in my mind: when Renee is talking with Mic in Lifeline, he looks at her with a smile and tells her, "There's no worries". That's how I will always remember him. Though I never really cared for his character, I highly respected his ability to bring Mic to life in such an amazing way.
May God bless his family and friends during their time of pain. He will never be forgotten.
I'm very saddened to hear about Mr. Goddard. From what I hear and the pictures I've seen of him, he was a very caring and friendly man. He was also an excellent actor, playing a 'villain' with such heart that one couldn't help but sympathize with his character at one point or another.
Mr. Goddard will be deeply missed by his fans and I'm sure, others who knew him. My thoughts and condolences go out to his family.

This came in as a shock earlier this evening. He will be missed by Hollywood, fans, his friends and mostly by his family ( especially his 2 sons!). I am sure Trevor was a good man with his ups and downs and I hope that he'll be treasured in the hearts of those who love him with fund memories!

"Mic" entertained us all for so many episodes. He was part of the enfolding JAG "novel" we have all become so attached to. Trevor had such a wonderful smile, and know he was loved by those who worked with him. I never got to meet him, but somehow it feels like I have lost a friend. May you find strength in the many prayers and thoughts being sent to you.

I meet Trevor last year at ther FanFest. He had a heart of gold. And the waay he would talkwith his fans.

What sad news. -- Katerina, 17:15:43 06/09/03 Mon I was shocked when I read that TG had died. What a sad day. I want to send my condolences to the cast and crew of JAG who knew and worked with Trevor. I didn't know that he was married and had children. To his family, you will be in my prayers tonight.

We'll keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. Why is a question left to the angles. As an actor Trevor Goodard always seemed able to illicit or provoke an emotional responses from those who watched his performances whether they liked his characters or not. He did a fine job playing the nemesis and the foil. Following the leads of JAG, when the cast sang their goodbyes to this man and the character he portrayed:

I'm speechless, and shocked by this news. -- Carmen Azcuy/Carmy...We'll miss ya Mate........, 16:52:42 06/09/03 Mon I didn't know Trevor Goddard personally, but one thing I do know is that, his presence on this earth made everything much more interesting. He loved his fans, had a great sense of humor and always a big smile on his face, he "Will" be missed...My heart goes out to his family, especially his children...I'm so very sorry...

I guess I can count myself among those who liked the Mic Brumby character. Only a good actor can create a character that surpasses the script and becomes believable for us the viewers. I enjoyed his run in JAG. I remember him also on the ABC movie about the famous Battle of the Sexes between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King, where he portrayed Margaret Court's husband. The news of his untimely death have taken me completely by surprise. From Puerto Rico, my family and I send our condolences to his family and friends, and may them find consolation and strength to hold on.
What a tragedy for his children, family, friends, and fans. My deep condolences. "Mic" was a character we loved to love or hate, but TG was a real human being, and a good actor. The JAG family will miss him.

I am very saddened by this news. Trevor seemed like such a sweet person. My condolences to his family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

One of the highlights of Fanfest 2002 was meeting Trevor Goddard. I worked at the "Mac on JAG" booth which was right next to the booth for Trevor Goddard, where he greeted fans and signed autographs. Being in that location gave me a unique perspective to watch him interact with the fans. He was truly amazing as he conversed with each one. With each conversation, autograph or picture made that I observed he focused his attention on the fan he was meeting with at
the time, conveying so much sincerity, warmth, and true graciousness, making him/her feel like a million dollars.
Steven Culp, the character on JAG who portrays Clayton Webb, stopped by to warmly greet Trevor on his way out, and I have some great photographs of the two of them together. Steven was obviously glad to see him.
When I came home, and told family or friends/JAG fans who I was able to see and meet at Fanfest, many had reservations about Trevor Goddard because of the character he played--most of them were not huge fans of the character Trevor portrayed, Mic Brumby. I told each one what an incredible person he was and what a privilege it had been to see him welcome so many who stood in line to meet him.
So it is with a deep sense of sadness that I heard the news today. That brief encounter with him last year made a tremendous impression on me. The thoughtfulness and sincere appreciation which seemed to come so naturally to him are such rare qualities in this day and age. As Kat Rose said so eloquently, he was a gracious man with a big heart.

I got to meet Trevor at the very first fan convention and was surprised by his generosity. He spent a great deal of time with the fans, attending the breakfast when CB wasn't able to make it, hosted the auction that night, danced with a few of us and passed out hugs, kisses, pictures and autographs galore.
I remember this particularly well from last year, too. Trevor had great interaction with Peter Murnik while they shared the hosting of our auction and he sat through an endless line of people waiting for autographs and pictures. I recall before he arrived, hearing a lot of people talking about not liking Mic Brumby and wondering if Trevor would be like his character. I laughed when I saw that the line to meet him was immediately the longest of the night. Like Scotty, I wasn't far away since I was manning the rose garden booth. I will never forget walking up to him and being greeted like a long lost friend. He remembered me from our past meeting and gave me a big hug and kiss.
The memories of meeting him and getting to share just a few minutes of quiet conversation will stay with me forever.

I wasn't all that much of a TG fan, but I am shocked and saddened by this news. From what I've read, Trevor was a devoted dad to his little boys, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, & fans at this most difficult time.
I hope that Trevor is in a better place, and that he left the pains behind, and can rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of meeting Trevor at last year's JAGFanFest. He was a sweet, caring man who had a big heart for his fans and spent a lot of time taking pictures, signing autographs and giving hugs. The laughter he brought to us when working with Peter during the auction will always be a highlight of fest for me.
He will be remembered fondly. My condolences and prayers to his family.
