Well if the President or CJ need any examples of a good plan for a sports complex check this out from Sacramento State.

Sac State is about 2x as large as CCSU, but it is really a "peer school" to Central. It is classified as a Master's School-West, not a national university. The majority of the students are from in-state and their tuition is actually lower than CCSU (beter higher Ed funding by Califoirnia).

They went DI in basketball in 1992!

This is off the subject, but I drove by the Quinnipiac Complex...that really BURNS me!!! They are going to have a much easier time pushing thier recruits with a facility like that than we will with Detrick.

I don't know what to say guys. CCSU desperately needs a new BB facility. We all know that and the idea has been kicking around for years but, as far as I know, absolutely NO action has been taken on anything.

Yeah...a nice place DOES improve recruiting but not always. There are many examples of this. Hampton University has a STELLAR arena, yet they struggle, as does Wright State and many schools with better facilities. (My memory is short...didn't Monmouth...who has a crummy gym...beat up on Hampton last year?).

CCSU needs a new facility not so much for recruiting as it does because Detrick is just overused by students, intramurals and the indoor athletic programs. What CCSU also needs is a TRUE field house.

What WE really need to do is to shout at our legislators. I have been banging on Sen. Defronzo's door about this and I feel we need a unified effort.

Anyone up for a massive letter writing and phone call campaign????
