Great games by the guards again! CCSU pulls out the win over Quinnipiac with Obie watching most of the game from the bench in foul trouble. CCSU is starting to gel into a really good team. Central (4-2) is currently in 5th place, but just 1 loss behind 1st place.

Next up: Saturday @ Mt. St. Mary's (5-1). Led by Landy Thomson, the Mount has won 5 straight NEC games (including vs. SHU and at Monmouth) to move to 1st place tie with RMU.

I'm considering taking the trip from DC to MD to check it out. What are some thoughts on this game?

Caught the game in Emmitsburg on Saturday. CCSU was on fire in the first half, but then got cold in the second and let MSM back in it. Clutch block seals the game. Our defense continues to struggle, yet we win. How long can it last? Maybe MSM gets only 3 FT because they shoot 44% from the floor - we just don't stop anybody! We looked good, but we have NO inside scoring.

Sobers is on a short leash. He went in and got a steal in his firts few seconds on the floor, but then missed a easy putback and was yanked. Ingo plays OK (he was beat 1 or twice for a dunk), but they don't look to him for scoring so its like opponent is playing D vs. just 4 players. We will live (and die) this season by the guards.

And let me say also The Mount was great. They have a good squad that doesn't give up. Great crowd and atmosphere there too - almost 1,800 - not at all what I was expecting. The student section behind the basket was packed and very loud. A great HS pep band kept the home crowd in the whole game. That's a nice facility and program they have down there. With the kids back in class, lets hope Central has a good home court advantage in the next 3 games!
