Sorry, but I disagree. This is a historical rival, and yes the gap is closer between I-AA and D-II, than I-A is to I-AA, but so what? Delaware, a I-AA powerhouse, still plays games vs. West Chester (D-II). Also, 2004 I-AA National Champs James Madison has played Slippery Rock and Bloomsburg (both D-II) in the past 2 seasons.

We are better than that eliteist attitude, and IMO the game vs. Southern is much more intersting than a game vs. St. Peter's. We should not play any MAAC school outher than Duquense or Marist. I'd hate to see us turn our backs on a sister CSU school. If this one game helps Southern a little more than Central in terms of exposure, so what? If we do our job and win the game, there is no complaint from me (and no it doesn't have to be a blowout - SCSU is good).

However, if we do build a bigger and better FB stadium, then all games should be played in New Briatin! That is the advantage of being the higher division program. We should always play at home - like UConn does to us.

I actually would like to see us play SCSU in an EXHIBITION mens' basketball game. Lots of D-I programs play DII schools in the pre-season. UConn will play Bentley (from the NE-10), Rhody plays Merrimack. Its good for the state, and the CSU system IMO.
