Subject: Thoughts vs. Albany?

I think its great that this game is on TV, I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully the stands will be filled and the Blue Devils will pull off a big win.

Comming off of a dissapointing loss to a quality Marist team, the Devils now play their first conference game. CCSU needs to establish its running game, get some first downs, control the clock, and put some points on the board early. The defense has to remain solid, stuff their running game, and force them to pass the ball. Most importantly they must be much better on special teams - don't give them good field position.

UA is certainly a very good NEC team. Their previous 2 games vs. A-10 foes is not a good measure of the team. Their rushing game is top notch, but they have a limited passing attack. Their D is also very solid. I think its gonna be close, but the home field advantage might be enough.

just an FYI, I know Albany has played two top-25 teams, but they only have 29 yards rushing in two games this season, hardly top notch.

A little deceptive, 29 yds. net rushing includes 'Team rushing' of minus-50 vs. Hofstra and minus-73 vs. UMass, mainly on bad snaps over the punter's head by the backup long snapper. Those also accounted for two of the 3 safeties vs. UMass.

Albany's R-Fresh. QB looks like a lot better passer than last 2 years, but he's still learning.

Defense actually looks pretty good if you don't have a real blazer to beat the DB deep.

that would give them 152 yards of rushing, still not stellar, but I get your point.
