Subject: NEC Basketball season begins

NCAA and NEC basketball kicks off tonight (11/8) at 6 PM with St. Francis (PA) taking on Cornell at the Syracuse Carrrier Dome in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. The game will be telivised on ESPNU (DirecTV Ch. 609) and is followed by Syracuse vs. Bethune-Cookman at 8 PM.

On Wednsnday the losers will face each other in a consildation game and the winners play for for the right to advance to MSG. With a win tonight and the Red Flash will likely face The Orange and get a big boost to their (and the NEC) RPI. So go Red Flash!

A slow start to conference play. Cornell does appear to be a good team with size up front, but SFPA needed to split that tourney with a win vs. Bethune-Cookman.

Let's hope our preseason favorite FDU fares better at the Guardians Classic @ West Virgina this weekend. The Knights will first play Wofford before facing either West Virginia or Louisiana-Monroe.

They might have a chance beating Wofford.
I think this is their 2nd full year as a D1 member.
