Subject: CCSU Recruits?

Any updates on our prospects?

----
CCSU's listing from www.scouthoops.com database:

SG, Kareem Brown (New London HS), 6-0/175 UMass, Quinn, URI, Sacred Heart, St. Bona, St. Peters

SG, Chazz McCarter (Hillhouse/New Haven), 6-2/160 High Point, UMass, St. Joseph, Xavier

SG, Mikko Koivisto (Lynchburg, VA) 6-4/195 Bucknell, UNC-Grensboro, VMI, William and Mary

SG, Otis Campbell (Hutchinson JC, KS) 6-2/215 James Madison, Murray State

----
Also, an excerpt from the NB Hearld:

Berlin center Kyle Zarotney can’t help but grab your attention.

At 6-foot-7, he’s almost always the tallest player on the floor, but it’s the skill level that goes along with his size that attracts the likes of Central Connecticut State University coach Howie Dickenman to his games. Seeing that he’s been nominated for the McDonalds All-American Team, many others are watching as well.

Zarotney averaged 14.5 points, 9.7 rebounds and 4.4 blocks per game in leading the Redcoats to and 18-8 record and the Division II quarterfinals. He had 12 double-doubles and two triple-doubles with blocks serving as the third criteria along with points and rebounds.

Correct...that's why we have a chance to get them. Hickenbottom and Blackwood were both passed up for taller team mates by the big schools so Howie snagged that...I think that turned out alright!

So Mike, you think its a shift on recruiting method? Get a better player that may not need much work as opposed to get a good physical player that needs a ton of work?

Why can't you be a good physical player at 6-4?

I think Howie is just taking the highest caliber player available, as opposed to filling a need, even if the player is less talented.
