Subject: Blue Devils vs. Blue Hens

Caught the Bing game @ Detrick. Good game, nice win. The team looks good. Once Lenny and Sobers get in a groove, we should be tough to beat.

This is a very good game to schedule. Delaware is a very beatable CAA team, but they have a great big man in 6-8 Sr. Forward Harding Nana. Obie, Jason, and Sobers should have their hands full tonight.

Series notes from UD (<a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://www.udel.edu/sportsinfo/mens_basketball/mbbnotes06-ccsu.pdf):">http://www.udel.edu/sportsinfo/mens_basketball/mbbnotes06-ccsu.pdf):</a>
Delaware leads the all-time series with Central Connecticut, 4-3, but the teams have not met since
the 1990-91 season when both were members of the East Coast Conference. The Blue Hens won all three
meetings that year, and their 113-84 victory at home still ranks as the most points Delaware has ever
scored against a Division I opponent and tied for second most against any opponent. The Blue Hens are
2-1 all-time against the Blue Devils in Newark.

From CCSU notes:
Tonight marks the eighth overall meeting between the two programs with Delaware holding a 4-3 advantage in the series. This is the first meeting between the two teams since the last game of the 1990-91 season. Delaware swept all three games with the Blue Devils that season when both teams were members of the East Coast Conference. All of the meetings have taken place between 1984-85 and 1990-91. Delaware has won three straight and four of the last five meetings.

This sould be a good game between 2 evenly matched teams. hte eraly line has Delaware by 4.. Hopefully they wont dig themselvs into a hole in the first.

Too bad we drop one on the road to a beatable Delaware team. Too much height, and we got a little sloppy in the middle of the second half..unforunately the refs changed the game again..Mojica has a lay up which should have been goaltending, instead it was a block and an easy lay up at the other end...a 4 pt swing. The no 10 second call hurt too...theres 6 pts. Now we MUST win the Conference games!

agreed. The first half sounded great. Up by only 6, but we were hot. 2nd half Delaware adjusts and Nana takes control. Sounded like a few calls didn't go our way either. I hope we get them in New Britain next season! It would have been nice to go 5-4 in OOC, but on to the NEC schedule.

Wagner has to be the early favorite now. FDU and Monmouth are strong too, but no reason CCSU can't finish in the top 4 and get a home game in the NEC tourney!
