How about any payday games?

Thanks I! Is Fairfield falling through?

Not real sexy, but a very winnable sked. Its not a stong schedule at all and a possible record of 7-2 vs. all those teams (of course with lots of hard work) would probably yield an RPI of 200. Like Larry said we need at least 1 guarantee (UConn) and 2 would be better.

I'll keep it positive until we hear more, but 2 games vs. Bing? Unless we are closer to joining the AE :)

that's it. 9 OOC games + 18 conference games = 27!

My guess for
the OCC home games
2 MS Classic games - Home
Binghamton (twice) - 1 and 1? not sure for that one
LaSalle Away (we played them home last year, i think)
FIU - Away
St. Bonaventure A10 - not sure if its home or away
Harvard - Home
Delaware - Away

am I even close on this one?

I hate to sound disapointed, but I am. Last year was so much better. Why would we schedule an OOC opponent twice in the same year (and both at home)? The MS tourney teams (TBA) are historically teams with a 200+ RPI, so we will have no premire games. The 2 A-10 teams have been worse than most mid-majors due to the scandals. I thought the NEC had a scheduling requirement? Thanks for the info, but any insight on why the schedule is so weak?

If they scheduled 2 BE teams and 2 higher A-10 teams you'd like that better? You'd rather lose and play teams with a higher RPI than schedule games that are winnable? You think it's easy to build a schedule...there is a reason that some teams won't play, because they are afraid of losing. If the schedule was harder everyone would complain it was too hard. Now it doesn't seem too hard (of course the games still have to be played) and everyone thinks its too easy. The Binghamton series is a home and home (that means each team plays one game at home), and who cares if you play an OOC opponent twice in the same season? The league does have a scheduling requirement, and this schedule meets that requirement, because there is nothing wrong with it.

[> [> Yes, its not easy to schedule -- J.J., 10:00:56 05/19/05 Thu

Thanks. I know scheduling is difficult and I understand the constraints, but in fairness not one of those teams finished last season with a winning record. None of those teams are a contender for their respective conference title (except Bing), and combined with the weak NEC rating, the overall SOS is very low.

I'm just suggesting sometimes you need a couple of "reach" game that is a big challenge that has "upset" potential. Just place Harvard and Delaware in the MS tourney and schedule 2 $ games vs. BCS conf teams (Seton Hall and Cuse). I'm not suggesting we can go 7-0 with this schedule, but on paper we have to be the favorite in almost every game. Yes, you still have to play the games and no they won't be easy at all, but there is no chance for a "marquee win." I understand if the other teams won't agree to play us, but I think it is a fair observation that this is somewhat weak compared to recent CCSU schedules.

Last season's finish (www.kenpom.com):

CCSU (12-16, 8-11 NEC) 253 RPI

Florida Intl (12-17, 4-10 Sun Belt) 177
Binghamton (12-17, 8-10 AE) 188
Harvard (12-15, 7-7 Ivy) 196
La Salle (10-19, 5-11 A-10) 213
Delaware (11-20, 7-11 CAA) 233
St. Bona (2-26, 1-15 A-10) 313

NEC Average RPI 245

[> St. Bona OOC schedule -- J.J., 14:15:48 05/26/05 Thu

St. Bona released their schedule which included a Dec 5th visit by CCSU to historically one of the toughest places in college hoops to play. However, due to the academic scandal the Bonnies have struggled a lot recently. I would expect them to return a trip to New Britain in 06-07, as they are doing this season for Marist and Niagara

Their OOC also includes 2 other NEC teams (RMU and SFPA), 3 MAAC teams, and a trip to play @FIU with CS-Fullerton.
