A new floor is just what the doctor ordered.
Next, Should be new bleachers.
Then Kaiser Hall will be a nice place to see a game.

I was just thinking about that ... the new scoreboard is awsome!! No more having to keep track of fouls/points in my head.

I would assume they will be going with the plastic bleachers. How many seats do you guys think you will lose.

Yeah, that's a lot of work. A few other schools have posted similar info about gym renovations, so check these out too its a neat process:

I'm sure the new floor will design will look cool. Personaly, I really liked the old design a lot (Conn. state outline with a star for New Britain), but I'd guess they'll use the logo again. Maybe put "CENTRAL CONNECTICUT" on the baselines.

[> Other summer updates -- J.J., 10:37:34 07/14/05 Thu

Great photos from the gym. Sounds like lots of cool stuff to come - new floor, bleachers, new banners?, scorebaord. Keep it comming!

Summer is slow, but I found a few new updates on the site that I'll share since Insider is probably just too modest :)

TOUCHDOWN CLUB - Football is just around the corner and the changing landscape of IAA football has been discussed before, so I encourage all fans and alumni to sign up and contribute what they can. I think just getting enough people to sign up will help to measure the support and put the program in a good postion when future changes come our way.

BLUE DEVILS ON TOUR - A very nice link from MGolf page of CCSU alumn on the PGA tour. I think its a nice touch that could be expanded to other sports in the future. How about a link - Blue Devils in the Pros - for those in the major leagues or professionally overseas.

SOCCER - Well soccer doesn't get much talk on the board, but in fairness both programs have been probably the most successfull overall in DI. Both teams should compete for a NCAA bid again this year and I've added a link to their websites from this board. Its very interesting to see so many of the Devils playing for national teams or professionally.

Lastly, any idea when the NEC will post the football preview or their MBB summer preview? It would be nice to see what Central and the rest of the league is up to especially in recruiting and scheduling.

St. Francis PA just broke ground for an artificial turf football field and track at the Pine Bowl to be ready by late September. They'll have new seating and a field house next spring.

Robert Morris will also be opening a new stadium this fall.

The NEC football preview isn't usually until mid-August.
