Schedule is not final yet, recruits almost are. They are waiting to finalize the entire class and release it all together. We don't care what SCSU does.

Recruits I dont know, but should soon. Schedule does include Colgate (season-opener I believe) and URI (tried to get out of this game but dont know where that stands, it's actually scheduled to be played in New Britain if you can imagine an A-10 traveling to an NEC team), plus the 7 game NEC schedule. That's all I know for now but I know they are hopefully releasing the sked very soon.

URI in New Britain would be great! Insider, as I'm sure you know last year Stony Brook hosted Hofstra and this season UAlbany is hosting Hofstra. I know the SUNYs have been very aggressive in scheduleing, but Hofsta is a good A-10 squad that appears to be willing to play their "lower," but former, in-state rivals on the road. It would be nice if Central could try to compete with some New England teams it faced backed in the 70s when the former Yannkee Conference schools played "college football" with teams like CCSU. I know its setting the bar a little higher than games vs. St. Peters or LaSalle, but but its possible :)

Great schedule released - 2 "reach" games (@ Colgate, vs. URI), 2 MAAC teams (@ Marist, vs. St. Peters), plus the 7 game NEC schedule.

IMO it will be very difficult to match last season with the graduations at QB and DB, but Harge should be the focus of the offense and the soph QB did get some snaps last year. Just hope the defense can contiue to play as it did last year.

The NEC will remain the same with Albany and Monmouth as early favorites, but CCSU should still be able to compete for the title.

[> 2005 NEC FB - OOC schedules -- J.J., 16:11:48 04/04/05 Mon

UA - Hofstra, @UMass, @Maine, @Fordham
CCSU - @Colgate, URI, @Marist, St. Peters
MON - @Lehigh, @LaSalle, California of PA (DII)
RMU - not announced yet
SHU - @Holy Cross, Marist, @Iona
SFPA - Morehead St., @St. Peters, @LaSalle, Duquensne
SBU - Bucknell, @Hofstra, Georgetown, @Marist
WAG - LaSalle, @Iona, @St. Peters, Marist

Every team (except SFPA and WAG) is playing at least one A-10 or PL team. NEC even gets home games vs. Hofstra, URI, Bucknell, and Georgetown.

Every NEC team but Albany plays at least one MAAC team - Marist (4), LaSalle (3), St. Peters (3), Duquensne (1), and Iona (1). Rare matchup vs. mid-major from Pioneer Conf. - Morehead St.

Just 1 games vs. a non IAA team.

Robert Morris usually opens against D-III SUNY-Buffalo (aka Buff State, NOT University at Buffalo). Expect them to play Duq again.

NEC-PFL games aren't that rare, but there would be more if the PFL would travel. Albany has played at Drake and at Dayton, but haven't gotten return games - they almost never come east of SFUPA or RMU. PFL schools probably blow their travel budgets with league games at Jacksonville and San Diego.

Thanks. Yeah, I guess its somewhat rare that Gateway teams play at NEC sites. Albany has a really tough schedule again (IMO - too tough), however all the NEC teams seem to be playing up this year (to a lesser degree). SBU's stadium will allow them to get better home games than most NEC teams, but a nice job by UA and CCSU geting an A-10 to visit them.

I don't remember where I got this info but RMU's OOC this season may be:
Butler (another PFL team visiting Western PA)
@Duquensne (MAAC team and Pittsburg area rival)
@Rowan (NJ DII school)

Rowan's D-III, but very tough (top 25)
