Subject: NEC Tourney: CCSU @ Monmouth

Gutty win by Central without Obie. Pittman leaves Detrick on a high note. D.A. was a scoring machine, Chiera adds points off the bench. Solid team play and execution for much of the game.

2nd half defense was still a letdown. QU was almost able to score at will (with very little TOP). Monmouth matchup zone will be a test. Hope CCSU is ready for this one. Defense and guard play will be important. A first round upset over #1 Monmouth would be sweet revenge for last season, but its a longshot. I'm just hoping it will be the televised game.

Good luck on Thrusday. I will be rooting you on. Good luck playing in the Boylan Gym. Not the easiest place for a visiting team to win at. But, if a team could do it, I would bet on the Blue Devils.

This game is televised on MSG... Because I have comca$t and they suck!!, I have not had MSG for like 2 years... Are there any plans to broadcast on campus or like a bar os somthing???

Oh and here's another reason. DirecTV will host ESPNU starting March 4th on its SportsPak. It is another cable station devoted to college athletics. Kinda of like CSTV (which they already have) which is associated with the www.collegesports.com, the website that hosts CCSU and other sites. I'd wouldn't hold your breath for Cablevision, Comcast, or Cox to add ESPNU to their lineup anytime soon.

Almost any sports bar anywhere with a satelite TV will have the game on (at least if you ask). MSG is widely available, unlike COX 3 or Metro-TV.

BTW - Cable TV in general stinks, I suggest anyone get Direct TV! DTV offer free installation, and offer much better packages than local cable outlets (and for a lot less $). Since I switched a year ago I couldn't be happier.
