I watched the 2nd half on FSN... I'm a Norwalk,CT native and was certainly rooting for CCSU... BUT bottom line this is the way the team's performed all season... no??? This is their learning year... Hopefully, next year, the big guys you guys recruited will be able to contribute which I'm sure will help the development of the program...

Its a first in the Dickenman years, so its not the end of the world, but the season has to be a dissapointment to everybody. They were a very average team, in a very bad conference. I think everyone expected a little better.

But I disagree about the learning year. This is the same team as last year (minus POY Robinson in the frontcourt) plus 2 solid freshman contributors (Blackwood and Hickenbottom). Next year the team is the same again (only loss is in the frontcourt again - Pittman). So do they expect more contributions from the bench/redshirt/freshmen next year? We will have the same 5 guards next year (I like them all), so what will really change?

On the bright side, I think CCSU has a great group of kids, and with some more hard work and CONSISTANCY things will rebound next year. And comparatively, we performed near the top of our in-state peers (minus UConn). Only Fairfield had a really better season, and compared to last year they took a step back too. However, I much rather be at the level of Niagara, Holy Cross, Boston U, Northeastern, or Vermont was this year.

This has been a down your for CT college b-ball all around... which happens... I have admit, I'm surprised Fairfield didn't have a better record...

Back to CCSU... You guys will have some serious size up front next season... Dickenmann didn't grab those two trees to be Marc Sur's (anybody remember him at UCONN in the early 90's? He lived down the hall from me when I was there.. He had skills but the were all in slow motion.. Huge kid with NAIA off the bench talent)... Also, I think Dickenmann needs to keep Lenny Jefferson (fellow Norwalker) in the starting line up... The team goes when he's in there it seemed (yeah, he missed the free throw late, but don't blame him for last nite's loss... I'd throw the blame on the refs for that lame ass foul they charged on Jefferson after he made the basket and came down on the defender... How the heck was that kid awarded 2 free throws was beyond me... He didn't have position... Ray Charles and Steve Wonder saw that he didn't have position when Jefferson went up for that shot)...

CCSU is on the brink of being a consistently solid basketball program... It starts next season unfortunately...

I don't think anyone would ever blame Jefferson for last night (just like it wasn't DA missed shot vs. Monmouth that lost it either). Yes, Lenny's 2 FT would have sealed it, but Rich clanked 2 just a few minutes earlier and the bottom line is the team shouldn't have been in that position to begin with. I really think all 5 guards are solid and have different attributes that complement each other. Lenny was quite improved this year and I hope that will continue into next season - he will continue to see major minutes. As for the frontcourt next year, outside of Obie and Jason, well, we'll just have to wait and see.

As for the call, its just silly to suggest the call was a fix, however I don't understand (or agree with) it either. If you let him have the basket, how could it be offensive? Why not waive off the whole thing? The announcers said it was very rare, but possible play. I don't know. Overall the game was called tight (and generally well), although I did think Hamilton should have gotten his fifth somewhere in the end. But again, its not the missed FT or the refs calls, its that the team was pressured on the imbound and couldn't hold on to a lead. Hopefully lesson learned.
