Subject: Central Signs 2 Forwards

Central Connecticut received letters of intent Friday from forwards Rob Robinson and Chris Winters.

"They're two opposite-type forwards," coach Howie Dickenman said. "Rob is a true block player. He has no illusion of going out and shooting threes."

Winters, who played at East Lyme High last season, will display his three-point shooting at St. Thomas More-Montville this season. Dickenman said Winters, 6 feet 7, 210 pounds, has range and good hands.

Robinson, 6-8, 210, attends the Winchendon (Mass.) School, after playing at Oxon Hill (Md.) High last season.

"Getting these two players fills two big holes," Dickenman said. "After this season, we won't have [senior forward/center] Rich Pittman."
