My point is that because the small lineup relies on perimeter shooting, there are going to nights where their shots aren't falling. A team that relies on perimeter scoring is never as consistent as a team that gets scoring out of their big men.

man I hope Central has their 3 point shot on tonight... It will be a long night if they dont. I would think that Howie should put in Sobers or even Ingo to put some bulk in front of the basket.

CCSU20M - you're right that a perimeter shooting team will be somewhat inconsistent. If the shots don't fall they're in trouble, but if they do you have a chance to knock off some of the big boys. It could be a hot and cold type season. Lets just hope they're hot in March!

Some teams can burry their opponent with outside shooting all night even though they can't go inside. Really thats what Samford did to Central. Anyway, its my guess that the bigger guys will take a while to come along in practice and we might not see them until the NEC games. I'd guess the team will have some kind of inside presence by the mid to end of the season.

Although Niagara is bigger than Central, from what I saw against PC they scored most succesfully was in transition off their defense. They got some lay-ups, short jumpers, and 3s. If CCSU controls the ball well, make good passes and smart shots NU's size won't matter much. But again if the shots don't fall (like Saturday night), we don't have the option to drop the ball to down low to a Robinson or Edwards type player, yet.
