Central really looks like a logical fit. I always thaought CCSU has a hard time completing with the big budgets of the other Private Universities of the NEC, but CCSU has always been a competitive player an all the sports.

I think Q has an in because they are have lacross in the AE already. Looking at the schools. I think that if Central were asked and gets in, then they can be immedately a threat for the top spot in basketball. I am not sure the RPI of this conference, but I think it is a few notches up from where the NEC is.

Most of the fans on the America East forum http://www.basketballboards.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=78 would prefer CCSU. Your having football is another plus if there's a I-AA FB conference shakeup in the next few years.

Comparing conferences, according to the Sagain ratings this year AEast was 25th to the NEC's 29th in men's BB, 18th to the NEC's 24th in women's BB, and 18th in the boydsworld psuedo-RPI to the NEC's 28th in baseball

Inside has been pretty quiet on this issue....
Things that make you go... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ;)
But seriously. I checked out the other board and it looks like the Q is not highly regarded in the America East. It would be a great thing to see CCSU kick Hartfords butt in conference play.
