It looks like QU bought (or bribed) its way into the ECAC for ice hockey. Yale would never schedule them in non-conference games, so why now would they let the Q into their elite club with the other Ivies? Holy Cross, a school with much stronger academics and a more storied history, must elevate its womens program to be join. Also, it appears QU approval was based on the commitment to build a new facility. Will their hockey/basketball facility be built before Central gets a new fieldhouse/sports arena?

I know Insider (and others might) feel CCSU is a good fit in the NEC, but I really think its only a matter of time until QPAC leaves for another conference. CCSU should also be trying to move its athletics toward a stronger conference (even if its behind the scenes) sometime in the near future or we will forever be regulated to playing SFNY and SFPA!

Never said CCSU was a good fit, just said they aren't going anywhere.

I would say you are right JJ. However, I think that Central should work on building the infrastrucure so when a larger conference has openings and forget about taking tiny steps (to the AE) and go 'Big Dog' style. I mean, if CCSU jumped to the AE, how long would it be before we started in on how small the conference is .. and of course, this is all contingent on how much $$Bling$$ the University is willing to put out to make it happen.

I would bet that the Athletics powers that be at Central probably have thought about this already!

however, the powers that be (i.e. the new president) are not even in place to make those decisions.
