How does Yale, Harvard, and Princeton let this happen. QU over Holy Cross? Yale has even sucked up to its neighbor and offered Ingalls Rink as a temporary home. Has hell frozen over?

Now how long is it until QU leaves the NEC for looking for a spot somewhere else for its other sports? CCSU needs to move the feasablity study for an athletic/conference center ahead sooner rather than later.

In all fairness, CCSU was only recently budgeted $250k to study the feasability of a conference/athletic center for FY05 (that began July 1). With the recent changes in the school administration and the governors office for that matter, I can understand a slight delay in moving forward, but I would expect RFPs to be issued this winter, selction of a firm by March, and completion of a report by June 30.

There is obviously political and budget realities that CCSU must deal with, but it is not unrealistic for anyone to expect a excutable plan for a new facility by this time next year. Just for reference, Binghamton recently completed a 5,600 seat on-campus events center for $33.1 million. That is about the same amount as the FY04 budget authorization for additions and renovations at Buley Library at SCSU. An new multi-purpose facility at Central is an affordable project, it just needs more public and political support.

HC would not commit to upgrading its women's program, that's why they were bypassed.
