Subject: Bracket Buster?
In reply to: Moose 's message, "NEC BBall schedule" on 07:21:55 09/09/04 Thu

I'm disappointed the NEC hasn't got a team in ESPN's bracket buster tourney this year. Two other northeast 1-bid conferences, the MAAC (Manhattan) and the AE (Vermont), are playing in this 64-team event. I think the CAA got 3 teams. Why was the NEC left out? I know we have had a team in the PNIT for 4 years in a row, but those games have been against major programs with little chance of the NEC winning. Monmouth or CCSU would have been ideal teams for the NEC to showcase in this national event, even if it werenít a televised game.

Also, on a side note checking out URI's website for football notes, I noticed their Menís basketball team is playing at Manhattan and Iona this year. That's a good A-10 team playing 2 away games in a MAAC gym. Shouldn't CCSU be able to get them at home even if it were a 2 for 1 deal?

Check out these schools:
Arkansas-Little Rock (Sun Belt)
Cal Sate Northridge (Big West)
Pacific (Big West)
Oral Roberts (Mid-Con)

Where is the NEC (and CCSU) in this?
