My fears almost turned into reality. Central was way too timid last night and kept Loyola in the game until the final buzzer. They slipped out with a win, but could have easily lost this one. If I had to predict the rest of the season based just on last night's play it would very ugly. However, I think they "played down" to their opponent and are a much better team than that. Also, because they are so young I don't know how they will play on the road. The building was empty so it wasn’t intimidating, but they looked tired and played without any enthusiasm.

What needs work: Other than the general lack of aggressiveness the Devils struggled at the foul line. Robinson is the only one that is truly solid in all facets of his game. BTW – he twisted an ankle in the game, he returned but was limping. Lets hope he’s OK or it could be a long season.

On the bright side Freshman Nwadike and Anderson got a lot of time and can play. They will be impact players in the years to come. Chiera and Pittman are also very solid and will have even bigger shoes to fill next year without Ron. Overall this is a team without much size, but does have speed and potential. Brown is another must win and lets hope its in more impressive fashion than this last one.

I wonder if Howie is looking for some size during the late signing period? maybe a JUCO player? The Devils look like they will need it for next year.

2 great articles from Yantz of the Hartford Courant, one on Obie and another on the team. He really has a great read on the team. Its nice press for the team. He highlited 2 things I saw at Loyola, getting some inside help and free throws.

Obie will be one of the greatest players to ever play at CCSU when he leaves....you won't know it by the stats, but he is a GREAT player!
