Subject: Mount Pulls It Off

The Mount win over Monmouth coupled with SHU's loss at Wagner means the Mount's in, and SHU is out. I guess sometimes longshots do happen. CCSU gets the 7 seed and takes on the winner of FDU and SFNY. Maybe we'll see you guys in the finals at CCSU.

The Mount deserves to be there more than we (SHU) does.

What is up with the women's team, what a bunch of dirty players. They intentionally foul one of our best players, by pushing her into the basketball stantion. Completely uncalled for. I hope the league can do something about that.

I'd be lying if I said that if I thought they were gonna make it, I don't blame anybody for writing them off. They had won 2 road games the entire year, Quinnipiac and Navy, and they had to win 2 on the road and upset the number 1 team in the conference. But good for them, its still a very young team. If they don't win it this year, hopefully going to the tourney will be a good experience for them for next year. Experience is my main concern. Nobody on the Mount team has ever played an NEC tournament game. The starters are a senior, 3 sophomores, and a freshman, and the top 3 off the bench are 2 sophomores and a freshman.

As for the women's team, nobody here really cares about them. The men drew 1,800 fans last night, the women are lucky to draw 180 fans. I haven't seen them play so I can't really comment on their dirtiness.

Mount Fan:
Yeah, I wrote them off a little too early. It was such a long shot, but 1st year head coach Brown has done a good job at MSM and had a core of key players from last year. I was still surprised that SHU lost their last 4 to end the season. However, the Mount must pull off another big upset of Monmouth to advance - a really tough task. Good Luck.

I wasn't surprised at all. They have always shown the lack of a killer instinct. I don't hold much for them next yaear as well. The juniors can't get the job done, it will be up to this year's freshmen & the incoming class to right this ship.
