Wow what a bracket - Florida, Oklahoma, UCLA, and CCSU! The SEC, Big 12, Pac-10 are powerhouse conferences, so this is some really impressive company. Good news for the Blue Devils is that they most likely will not face the ace of the staff from Florida, or in game #2 vs. OU/UCLA. It is great that Florida is not the host, but they are still a good #1 seed so it will be tough game, and of course there is the possible matchup vs. the home squad (OU) in game #2.

I know Central played OU in MBball a few years ago, but I doubt CCSU has ever played Florida or UCLA in any sport. UCLA is the most successful school in NCAA sports history, so I’d love to see us play them in game #2. It would be a great game against a team that is nearly impossible for a school like Central to ever schedule. Good luck, but I think it will take a lot of hard work (and a little luck) to steal a game in this tourney.

Fact is though that CCSU has been steadily gaining stature within college baseball but a win would be huge. Even just respectable outings here will gain them some more prestigous competition next year should they want it. The best part is the program is just going to get better.
