read Jeff Jacobs article in today's Courant, this is only going to get uglier. Things are not right and these are the first steps to making them right. The Herald is at a disadvantage because of the size of their staff and their editor has been out since the birth of his newborn...

I just read Jacobs article. He hits the nail on the head. Even if CCSU football is to go 10-0 and win the NEC, no big deal. It provides no national exposure and no real regional interest. Look at UMass and their issues surrounding 1-A football. We get killed by them (partly because they have schollys) and yet they know that winning a true 1-aa championship (which they did in 1988) means nothing.

This just seems like a bad idea to start a riff in the department. I truly hope Judd and CJ can settle this soon. They are both alums and it looks bad for the university.

As an outsider looking in it looks like Judd and his cronies are running over the AD and the Athletics Dept. I've met with Coach Shudel on 4 occasions in the last year. The guy came off as a professional who loved to coach his team. If, as the rumor goes, he saved meal money I'd be amazed if he pocketed it for himself. He had yet to field his own recruited seniors. Sure, his record at Central stunk but I heard 1/2 the upper classmen quit when he was hired in the first place. I would love to hear the true reason for the firing up there in CT when it comes out.
