Fishing has been slower for the last couple of weeks on the Assunpink Lakes. Reports are that it has been the same in other areas. While bass fishing has slowed down, channel cat fishing has picked up, with 8 lb catfish being caught. Large shiners, chicken liver and night crawlers are the baits of choice. Bass are still being caught. Look for them in the deeper water off the old creek channels, along the dam and the heavy weed cover at the eastern end of Lake Assunpink. Fishing shiners deep at Stone Tavern and Rising Sun lakes have paid off for several of our regular customers. Our fishing report has been posted on our website.
